The Golden Years

Christmas--the celebration, I mean--came and went in a flash. The Christmas dinner witnessed a joyous coming together of relatives and friends. And today, on Boxing day, I'm too busy to send out a proper blog. Yet I think I'm going to surprise all of you, my dear Readers.
Tomorrow, the 27th, two days before the actual date,my wife and I will be celebrating our Golden wedding anniversary. Imagine that. How blessed are we to spend those 50 years together?
We start thle day with a visit to Church, there to renew our commitment to each other. In the evening we have arranged a small, cozy get-together of family and friends at a local pub. My eldest grandson will get things going with his version of "Pretty Girl". He is a gifted guitarist and will make us all proud.
Here's a list of some of the songs that will be played. The next few I'll keep for next week. So, here goes:
1) I will always love you--Whitney Houston.
2) You're my best friend--Don Williams.
3) You're my best friend--Queen.
4) You're my number one--Pilot.
5) You are my darling--Jim Reeves.
6) Can't stop loving you--Van Halen.
7) Everything I do--Bryan Adams.
8) Your man--Josh Turner.
9) You've got a friend--James Taylor.
10) Uyire--AR Rahman.
Maybe you've crossed the landmark year before me, but, more likely, you've still got miles to go. Whatever it is, there's no reason not to have your own playlist. After all, music does make the world go round. Imagine again, people, where would we be without it?
Cheers, and have a rollicking New Year.
